Joined Shore Excursions

Traveling around the world on a cruise ship is becoming more and more popular every year. Some of the cruise ports are welcoming several more and larger ships than what they used to. Therefore loads of buses have to take the visitors to various destinations. After many years of experience working with cruise ship passengers and tours that were organized by different travel companies, we realized that the "real" travelers needed something more. That is what inspired us into designing semi-private joined tours at the most popular ports of Greece. Our semi-private tours are for maximum 25 people per tour guide, usually even less, since we think that what can really differentiate your experience is a more personal approach and a tour group that moves around easier and can stop in smaller but important spots in the archaeological sites and the museums. Don't miss the opportunity to join one of our shore excursions and have an unforgettable experience, which at the same time is a real value for money option and a way to contribute to the local economy.

Katakolon

Katakolon

Katakolon is a small port town located on the western coast of the Peloponnese. Its main claim to fame is a deepwater port suitable for the largest cruise ships you can imagine, along with the fact that it is only 35kms from Ancient Olympia.

If Katakolon is part of the itinerary of your cruise ship, below you will find more details about our joined shore excursions that you can participate to, and visit the birthplace of the Olympic Games.

Piraeus

Piraeus

The port of Piraeus, as the largest Greek seaport, is one of the largest seaports in Europe and the world, located in the Mediterranean Sea basin. Being the main port of Athens, even from the ancient times, Piraeus nowadays is a major destination for cruise ships in the Mediterranean.

If your cruise ship docks in Piraeus, find below some of our tours that you can join and visit Athens, one of the oldest named cities in the world and explore the many highlights.

Santorini

Santorini

Created by the volcano erruption in 1650 B.C., Santorini’s cruise port port of call is located at the bottom of the Caldera cliffs in Fira, the capital of Santorini. It doesn’t have a cruise terminal and visitors are tendered ashore by small boats. The only ways up to Fira is by the cable car, the donkeys or by walking, which we do not recommend.

Find more details about our semi-private shore excursion of Santorini and join us to explore the island!

Gythion

Gythion

This picturesque little town is located on the south of the Peloponnese. It is also well known as the ancient port of Sparta, being so close to both Ancient Sparta and the medieval town of Mystras. Mani is a legend by itself, a peninsula that is being characterized by a very dramatic and unique landscape composed by huge rocks, big cliffs, amazing sea views from its windy roads and stone tower houses that the locals used to build to either be protected by the pirate invasions, or from each other due to the so many family vendettas.

Discover below our proposal for a semi-private tour from Gythion to Mystras. We are offering this tour only on specific dates throughout the year, since only a few vessels arrive to the port of Gythion.

Client Testimonials

Niki's knowledge of the history there as well as how she related it to all of us was a perfect balance!
Julie
Niki knows her stuff, and she comes across as an intelligent and credible source of verified information. My wife and I used her as our group tour guide in Olympia and then again in Athens, and we were very pleased.
Tony
I definitely recommend other cruisers to book independently through Niki Vlachou.
