What to expect
- You will be picked up from the designated appointment place by a certified guide and you will board your luxury private vehicle with an English speaking driver.
- Visit the archeological museum of Thessaloniki with your private licensed guide and learn about the way the cities of Macedonia were organized in antiquity. The Museum collections include numerous artifacts dating from the Prehistoric era to the end of antiquity. They come from excavations conducted throughout Macedonia since 1912, along with handed-in antiquities. Ceramics, Metalworking and miniature art collections, Lithics, Wall-paintings and Mosaics collections.
- Admire from close the Crater of Derveni, a find unique of its kind, and a product of sophisticated metalworking of the 4th century B.C. The crater was used as a depository urn for the deceased's ashes found in tomb B in Derveni. Originally it functioned as a vessel for mixing water with wine.
- Drive through the busy roads of this vivid city and admire the “White Tower” , the port and the “Rotunda monument” as well as “the Arch of Galerius” where you will also make short stop for pictures.
- Visit the castle and the city walls, located on the top of the hill and enjoy the panoramic view of this gorgeous city and the Thermaikos gulf, while your guide will be telling you all about the history of the city.
- Visit Agios Dimitrios cathedral for a guided tour and also enjoy a short walk to see the Roman Agora.
- Return back either to the point of origin or be dropped off in the city center, in order to continue your day by your own.
