Once in Delphi, the highlights to visit are the Archeological Museum and the Archeological site, as well as the Kastalia spring and the site of Athena Pronaia. In the archeological site, among several other remains of important buildings, you will see the agora, the sacred way where all the hundreds of bronze monumental statues dedicated by the different cities to the sanctuary were, the treasury of Athens, the rock of Sibyla, the stoa (portico) of the Athenians, the temple of Apollo, the base and restored part of the tripod of the battle of Plataea, the theatre etc.
In the archeological museum are housed all findings that were excavated from the archeological site. Bronze and clay offerings (tripods and figurines) , the sphinx of Naxos, the freeze of the treasury house of the island of Sifnos, the remaining parts of the once burned gold and ivory statues of Apollo and Artemis, the silver bull, parts of the wall of the Athenian treasury with inscriptions, several marble very well preserved classical statues, the very famous and impressive bronze charioteer etc.
For the guided visit with a licensed tour guide of the site and the archeological museum you will need approximately 2 hours and then you can spend more time on your own to take pictures.
Alternatively, you could visit the archeological museum on your own after you enjoy the guided tour of the archeological site with your guide, for which you will need approximately 1 hour.
What is a must do and see if your time allows it, is to walk down to the Kastalia spring, which still flows through a modern fountain and then a few meters further away where the ancient cistern lies, as well as to the ancient gymnasiums and palaestra where the athletes participating to the Pythia games would train and the nearby site of Athena Pronaia, where her temple and a couple of treasury houses were built. The 3 restored columns of the tholos, the round building that was built on the 4th century BC are consisting one of the emblems of Delphi and you will see their photos almost in every book or travel site about Delphi.
